Mid-Face Lift
The Mid Face Lift uses a 'small incision facelift technique' to correct the movement, or falling, of soft tissues from the middle of the face. It is less invasive than a traditional facelift, and more tailored to specific age-related conditions of the face.Patients who need surgical improvement directly below the eyes are good candidates, rather than those who need improvement in the neck/chin. The mid-face lift focuses on tissues in the upper cheek area where those telltale "hollow" areas begin to form with age.
To perform a mid face lift, small incisions are made near the temple, above the ears, in the eyelids, and inside the mouth. Using carefully placed sutures, the facial tissue is gently pulled up and restored to its original position in the middle of the face, making the area directly below the eyes smoother and tighter.
Compared to traditional facelift methods, our technique allows for a shorter recovery time. Nonetheless, patients should expect at least 1 week of downtime. Some swelling, bruising and numbness may occur, but usually subsides within a few days.
